Joining the team at the Carbon Almanac

Each month, we’ve been inviting a small group of passionate people to join our project. If you’re here, it’s because I thought you have something to offer.

I tried to find a small but powerful sample of the respondents–people with a mix of skills, backgrounds and approaches who can add value to the project at this stage. I’d love for you to check out the private discussion board we’ve put together.

We’ve made a HUGE amount of progress in the last few months, and you’re just in time for the next phase of what we’re building together.

A cadre of 150 superheroes in 20+ countries has been working around the clock to build an important foundational text around climate. See the end of this post for a video I recorded a few months ago.

What’s done:

• The research of the contents

• The writing of the articles

• The design of the pages

• Most of the layout of the book

Here are some sample spreads:

What’s left to do:

• The three additional free PDFs that will be used to educate, spread the word and connect people.

• The daily email action list

• The outreach campaign to bring the Almanac to the world in June

• The chance to build something that scales and lasts

We’re in the midst of building strategy and systems and teams to put us where we need to be for June.

We need people who want to lead, to be part of a group, to do outreach, coordination, strategy, enthusiasm, editing, project management and more.

Everyone is a volunteer and everyone is part of this because they want to be.

If you got the email to visit this page, you’ll need to click this link to join the discussion board. Once you do, feel free to visit the pages as you come across them, to introduce yourself and to respond to what others are saying.

It will take at least twenty minutes to find your way around. Be patient! Tag and type, poke around, get a handle on what’s going on. Post a photo and bio. Once you get the hang of it, it will feel comfortable and you’re on your way.

We’ve been at this for fourteen weeks, and progress is happening fast. Right now, we’re on the search for people who can help us. There’s an orientation Thursday at 4 pm NYC time, I’m hoping you can join us.

Please don’t share this page or the discussion board with anyone else without asking me first. These are very early stages for a project and we’re beginning with a very small group.

Thanks for checking this out.
