Mel’s podcast has crossed the chasm and is a mass-market phenomenon. It doesn’t corrode the culture or seek controversy, it simply tries to make a positive impact.
Here’s what she sent to her list in March 2026:
I mentioned in my last letter what an honor it was to be included in Time Magazine’s Women of the Year list, alongside 15 other incredible global leaders. And I couldn’t wait to say thank you for your kind wishes – and your advice about what I should wear! I included a photo with Teyana Taylor because she was one of the amazing women on the list. I’ve always admired her style, and so I was absolutely dead when she told me she loved the dress!!! (The dress is by Raquelle Pedraza). And I have to tell you… I wouldn’t have been in that room, being recognized for the positive global impact my work makes, surrounded by other powerful women, were it not for the person I can’t wait to introduce you to right now. He is one of one of my very first – and still my all-time favorite – mentors: Seth Godin. For almost two decades, I’ve been a student of his work, read his books, and from afar, he’s taught me almost everything I know about making an impact, finding purpose, and marketing what you do. I have been waiting forever to meet him in person and get him into our Boston studios so you could experience his extraordinary wisdom too! Back in 2016, Chris and I were such huge fans of Seth’s work that we jumped at the chance to buy a limited-edition copy of his book, What Does It Sound Like to Change Your Mind? This thing is massive – it weighs as much as a toddler and is the same size too – it’s meant to sit proudly on a coffee table! And a decade after buying it, I hauled it into our Boston studio because I was hoping Seth would sign it. Can you guess what gift Seth brought me?! That same limited-edition book…. In fact it was the very last copy he had of this book! Not a surprise that we were all in tears.

And here’s the crazy part: before this conversation, Seth had no idea how much he’d shaped all of us – Chris, our senior producer Amy, and me – through his books, blogs, and courses. He didn’t know his ideas were the reason I stopped waiting for someone to “pick” me and decided to publish my first book on my own. And he definitely didn’t know that one decision would end up launching the career that eventually led to The Mel Robbins Podcast.

So this meeting was a huge full circle moment for me, and one I won’t ever forget. Seth is going to tell you that you were put on this planet to do important work, and no one is going to do that work for you. If you keep putting off a project, a goal – and let’s be honest, the life you want – by staying busy, scrolling, or telling yourself “I’ll do it when…,” you’re about to get called out in the kindest, most helpful way. You don’t need more time. You need courage. The guts to start before you feel ready. To let people see what you’re working on, or to hit publish even though it’s not perfect. There’s something in you that can change your corner of the world, but only if you stop holding yourself back. Listen to Simple Steps for Getting Unstuck: Do THIS and Change Your Life here:
