The Knot

I’m working on a new book called The Knot, and I’d like your help bringing it to life.

Most of us are working very hard on things that can’t be fixed. We optimize. We worry. We push. And nothing changes. At the same time, we often avoid problems that can be solved because they feel tangled, uncomfortable, or risky.

The Knot is about learning to tell the difference — and what to do once you know a problem can actually be solved.

The book officially comes out in September. It’ll be in hardcover, audio, and ebook. In the spirit of THE DIP, it’s short and actionable. And Mel Robbins was generous enough to write the foreword.

I’m sharing an early version of the book with a small group of readers to help shape it before publication. Click the cover to subscribe. You can pre-order it now, getting early access to the draft, and then get the real audio and PDF in September.

The preview is available now. Visit this page at SupportingCast and subscribe to the beta program. It costs $20 and it includes:

  • The first draft of the book in PDF form.
  • First access to the audio edition of THE KNOT. Read by Eleven Labs in a voice trained by me. It plays in any podcast app on your phone or laptop. There’s a short sample of the voice quality below.
  • The ability to submit audio questions and hear updated answers each week for eight weeks
  • Access to the PDF of the final edition
  •  In September, the audiobook will be automatically updated to a revised, newly recorded edition, read by me
  • And also in September, the final hardcover edition will be available for purchase. Beta preview subscribers will receive a coupon to buy a multi-pack at a significant discount
  • And, members of Purple.space now have access to a special discussion board to brainstorm and put the book’s ideas to work. You can join if you’d like to be part of a mutually supportive online community. I’ll be doing a live Q&A there on February 9.

Here’s a sample of what the audio from ElevenLabs sounds like:

If you’re subscribed and ready to submit a question, just access this page with your phone or a laptop with a microphone and click the link below. The best questions are about you, your work, your problems. How are the ideas in the book resonating with the change you’re hoping to make or where you find yourself? If you’re wrestling with an issue, others probably are as well.

Coming this fall from Authors Equity.
