Companies that invest in getting smarter

Here’s a (very) partial list of companies that are doing the intelligent thing: reimbursing employees for educational expenses. The math here is compelling: if an employee spends the time and effort to learn something, it not only benefits the employee (who gets to keep that knowledge and perspective forever) but it helps the organization as well.

Over time, companies either find smart staff or they fall behind.

We’ve had dozens of companies pay for their employees to take the altMBA, and it’s a trend we see growing over time.

If your company is on this list below, then they have paid for external learning opportunities in the past. Go ask your boss or the HR people about their policy and then sign up for something worth learning. We have some suggestions at the Akimbo workshops page.

And if we left your organization off the list, please take a minute to let us know via this form and we’ll do our best to update the list regularly.

[If your company doesn’t care enough to encourage its employees to learn things on their own, it might be worth asking why.]
